Mt Buller Resort | |||||||||
The Resort offers 180 ha of ski trails as well as wide, open space above the tree line. The longest ski trail is 2.5km with an average snow depth of 1 to 1.5 metres. There are 25 ski lifts, capable of moving 40,000 people every hour. And since the maximum number of people skiing is approximately 10,000 at peak periods, there are usually no delays in catching a ski lift. The season opens in early June, although snowmaking generally begins in late May, provided weather conditions are suitable. The season closes in early October, as the alpine resort begins to assume its glorious Spring mantle. The Mt Buller Alpine Resort is only a three hour drive from Melbourne and is emerging as one of Australia's best all season alpine resorts. Apartment Facilities | |||||||||
The apartment was acquired in 1980 when the Club decided that accommodation at Mt Buller would complement the Falls Creek lodge. The flat is used extensively by members especially at weekends and during the inter-schools ski competitions. Moose Apartments were constructed approximately 30 years ago but remain well managed and maintained. A major facelift of the building and an upgrade of our apartment was carried out during 2002. Oldina’s flat is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom corner apartment on the ground floor. It has large lounge/dining area with superb views to the south over The Bluff and surrounding ranges (see picture above). Following the upgrade, the apartment has 2 ensuite bedrooms and a separate third bedroom and bathroom/laundry. It also has a modern kitchen and large open plan dining and lounge area with a TV. As with our Falls Creek Lodge, the flat is smoke free and operates on a self-help, self-catering basis with residents providing their own linen. |
